This section provides instructions for installing ASF software on a client computer. Deployment describes methods that you can use for remote installation in your network enterprise.

Listed below are the steps to install the Intel PRO Alerting Agent on computers that support ASF. Please note that the agent requires that the WMI Provider Core Version 1.5+ be present on the client system.
NOTE: The WMI Provider Core cannot be removed from a system after it is installed. Its presence should not adversely affect any other software or hardware. | |

The setup program installs and registers several individual software components that make up the agent and the ASF WMI layer, and compiles an ASF managed object format (.mof) file.
The Intel ASF Agent WMI Console does not require an installation program. The executable file AlertApp.exe is installed automatically when the agent is installed in the path C:\Program Files\intel\ASF Agent\console. Create a shortcut under Control Panel to it with the name Intel ASF Agent Console.
You can repair or remove the Intel PRO Alerting Agent using either the installation file or the Add/Remove Programs icon on the Control Panel (Programs and Features in Vista OS).
