Sonic Impact supports classic standards – Soundblaster TM Pro – as well as the latest standards such as Microsoft’s DirectSoundTM and DirectSound 3DTM as well as power management (ACPI and PPMI). Sonic Impact accelerated sound output under DirectX, and DirectSound 3DTM from Microsoft – that means the CPU-overhead for processing sound is reduced significantly. The wavetable functions extend to a 64-voice wavetable synthesizer with DLS support. Simultaneous playback and recording of CD quality sound is delivered across the PCI interface. Up to 32 independent audio streams can be played back in CD quality.
