Requirements

PCI version 2.1 bus.
- One free PCI bus system expansion slot.
- Windows® 95 operating system.
- PCI graphics card with DirectX 3 compatible

Warning!
Prevent static electric damage. Static charges can cause severe
damage to microcircuits, but here are some easy ways to see that
it doesn't happen:
Hold the card by its edges only. Don't touch edge connectors or
exposed circuitry.
Leave the card in the anti-static protective bag until ready to
install it in your computer.
If possible, ground your body when handling the card. A metal
power supply in your computer is generally considered the best
place to ground yourself.
Do not place the graphics card on a metal surface.
Make as few movements as possible to avoid building up static
electricity from your clothing, carpets and furniture.

Opening the Computer Cabinet
- Switch off your computer and all peripherals (printer, display,
and others) and unplug all power cables from the electrical source.
- Remove the cover mounting screws and save them for later.
- Remove the cover of the computer.
Installing the
DTV 2000 Card
The DTV card has been designed to 'plug & play' without
switch or jumper settings.
Install the card in a PCI expansion slot.
- Select a free expansion slot and remove its metal slot cover.
Save the screw to secure the graphics card later.
- Hold the card by the edges and press it firmly into the expansion
slot.

Note: The following step is
very important in order to ground your new card properly.
- Align the slot in the mounting bracket of the card with the
screw hole in the rear panel of the computer case. Use the screw
you removed from the expansion slot cover to secure the card in
place.
- If your CD-ROM is directly connected to your sound card, no
additional connection to the DTV 2000 is required.
- If you don't have a sound card, take the cable provided with
the DTV 2000 and connect it between your CD-ROM drive and the
CD-In connector (5) on the DTV 2000 card.
- If you have a CD-ROM and a sound card, take the cable provided
with the DTV 2000 and connect it between your CD-ROM drive and
the CD-In connector (5) on the DTV 2000 card.
Use a cable for 'sound card to CD' connection (not included) and
connect it between the CD connector on your sound card (this is
a small white set of prongs that are usually located on the sound
card's top ledge) and the Audio-Out connector (6)
on the DTV 2000 card.

If you cannot connect your sound card to the DTV 2000 internally,
you may try an external connection.

- Secure ribbon cables and gently push them down and out of
the way before you replace the system cover.
- Replace the computer cover. Secure it with the screws you
removed earlier.
- Reconnect any peripheral equipment cables you may have disconnected.

- Attach the 9-pin Mini-DIN connector of the camera/audio input
adapter to the 9-pin camera/audio-in connector (4) on the DTV
2000.
- Attach the coaxial antenna/broadcast cable to the TV antenna
connector (2) on the DTV 2000 if you want to watch TV via your
DTV 2000.
- Attach your headphone set or your powered speakers to the
stereo audio output connector (3) on the DTV 2000. This will enable
you to hear stereo sound while watching TV via the DTV 2000,
but you won't be able to capture sound if you capture or playback
an AVI file or use the volume control on the DMMOTION remote control.
- Attach your video camera and stereo audio input to the corresponding
connectors on the camera/audio input adapter.
When you have completed the physical installation of the DTV 2000,
continue with installing the software.
- If you cannot connect your sound card internally to
the DTV card, you may use a mini-stereo plug cable (not included)
to make a connection between the input jack on your sound card
and the stereo audio output connector (3) on the DTV 2000. Make
sure that you are using a stereo-ready cable or else you will
only get a mono signal while watching TV and capturing or playing
back a video file.
