TV/Live Mode
Remote Control - Online Help

In the TV/Live mode you watch TV, playback movies from your VCR or camcorder, and record or capture frames and/or movie sequences to your hard disk for further processing.

The TV/Live window shows the following menus:
 - if the Title & Menu Bar is hidden, right-click anywhere within the window -

Window Menu

Channel Menu

Next
 
 
Switch to the next higher TV program in your
pre-programmed list of TV channels,
for example, switch from program 2 (channel X)
to program 3 (channel Y).
 
Previous
 
 
Switch to the next lower TV program in your
pre-programmed list of TV channels,
for example, switch from program 3 (channel Y)
to program 2 (channel X).
 
1 ... 8
 
Select a TV channel that you had selected previously
 
  










Volume Menu

  

This menu offers the same functions as the Volume Control buttons (      ) on the Remote Control.

Mouse on TV
 
 
Sound is turned off when the mouse cursor is not on the open Video window.
Sound is turned on as soon as the mouse cursor is on the open Video window.
 
  











Capture Menu

Capture Frame
 
 
Copy a single frame to your hard disk according to
the settings specified in the 'Capture Frame' dialog
 
Capture Movie
 
 
Copy a movie, or part of it, to your hard disk according
to the settings specified in the 'Capture Movie' dialog.
 
  













Settings Menu

  

You'll find the following buttons in submenus of the Settings Menu:

OK - confirm the settings and changes, quit the Settings menu

Cancel - skip any changes, quit the Settings menu

Apply - confirm the settings and changes, keep the menu open for further changes

Help - start online help




Menu item Function
 

Video Source ...
 
 
Check and/or change the Video Source, Tuner, and
Audio Source settings.  You'll find detailed information in the
online help of the Video Source... menu.


Video Display ...
 
 
Open the standard capture driver display menu.
NTSC TV tuner (USA) only: specify how you want TV subtitles displayed.

Change the names and/or program positions of your TV channels

Assigning a new program position to a TV channel:

  1. Select the TV channel from the Channel Name column.
  2. With the left mouse button held down drag it up or down
    to the desired program position.
  3. Release the mouse button and click OK.
    Note: Reposition all TV channels you want to re-arrange
    before clicking OK

Your TV channel list and the corresponding TV channel assignments
on the Remote Control buttons are automatically re-arranged.

 
Assigning a new name to a TV channel:

  1. Click the TV channel in the Channel Name column.
    Click the name's field of the TV channel.
  2. Enter the new name and click OK.


Capture Movie Specify the details for recording a movie


Capture Frame Specify the details for recording a frame


Wake Up

This is similar to programming your VCR:
Specify the data for automatically starting the TV tuner
on a selected TV channel at a defined date and time,
for example, to record the stock report every day at 2:00 pm
from a TV news service.

For Wake Up recording you need:

  • Your PC switched on and
  • Remote Control being active (can be minimized)

at the defined recording time.



Hotlink
 
Specify hotlinks for immediate access to your preferred Internet pages
(for example, a TV magazine on the Internet), help programs, etc. 


Driver Configure
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Display the capture driver configuration menu.
The configuration options vary for each capture driver.
Which capture driver is used in your system depends on your
graphics card. Information on the capture driver configuration
may be supplied in the documentation or online help of your
capture driver. For more information on the capture driver in
your system click My Computer - Control Panel - Enhanced
- Multimedia Devices - Video Capture Devices

Specify hotlinks for immediate access to your preferred Internet pages.
(for example, a TV magazine on a WWW-page), help programs, etc.
  • Enter the exact Internet address,
    or the local directory path and filename, respectively,
    for your hotlink.
    Then click the Add button to add your selection
    to your list of hotlinks.
  • Click the Browse button and select your hotlink path
    with the mouse. Then click the Add button to add your
    selection to your list of hotlinks.
  • To delete a hotlink, click the hotlink in the list
    and then click the Delete button.
